New Biden Disinformation Czar Said She Wants Ability To Add Context To Tweets

Nina Jankowicz, the head of the Department of Homeland Security’s Disinformation Governance Board sounds like a totalitarian bent on becoming the speech police.

Not much is known about how this board is going to operate or what its job will be, but a video that has just resurfaced shows the disinformation Czar speaking to a panel about her dystopian fantasies of being able to edit the tweets of other people.

“And I am eligible for it because I’m verified. But there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified who aren’t, you know, legit, in my opinion,” she said. “I mean, they are real people, but they’re not trustworthy. Anyway, so verified people can essentially start to edit Twitter, the same sort of way that Wikipedia is so they can add context to certain tweets.”

“Just as an easy example, not from any political standpoint, if President Trump was still on Twitter and tweeted a claim on voter fraud, someone could add context from one of the 60 lawsuits that went through the court, or something that an election official in one of the states said. Perhaps your own secretary of state and his news conferences, something like that,” she said.

“Adding context so that people have a fuller picture, rather than just an individual claim, on a tweet,” she said.

Judging by her criteria in this video anyone who is verified, people like Alyssa Milano, Tom Arnold, Stephen King, Bette Midler, Alec Baldwin, etc… could add context to the tweets of another Twitter user.

This woman should not be anywhere near policing speech for anyone.

Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson announced on Twitter that he and other Republicans have issued a bill to dissolve the group.

“Today I led 50 @HouseGOP Members in introducing a bill to defund Biden’s ‘Ministry of Truth.’ The government has no role in determining what constitutes truth or acceptable speech, and this dystopian, unconstitutional board must be dissolved. If Biden won’t do it, then we will,” he said.

“The Biden Administration’s decision to stand up a ‘Ministry of Truth,’ is dystopian in design, almost certainly unconstitutional, and clearly doomed from the start,” he said in a press release on his website. “The government has no role whatsoever in determining what constitutes truth or acceptable speech. President Biden should dissolve this board immediately and entirely. If he won’t then Republicans will.”

“The legislation bars federal funding for DHS’ recently announced ‘Disinformation Governance Board,’ to be headed by Executive Director Nina Jankowicz,” the press release said.

“Jankowicz, who refers to herself as the ‘Mary Poppins of Disinformation,’ is a frequent purveyor of falsehoods, and appears sympathetic to the cause of censoring Americans,” it said.

“Recent falsehoods peddled by the Biden Administration include: the falsehood that Secretary Mayorkas has done an effective job managing the border crisis; the falsehood that economic contraction in Q1 of 2022 is actually hiding broad economic resiliency; the falsehood that Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending bill costs zero dollars; the falsehood that inflation is a ‘high-class problem’; and the falsehood that 70% of our current inflation is actually being caused by Vladimir Putin,” it said.

In addition to Rep. Johnson the bill was signed by Reps. Ben Cline (VA), Bill Posey (FL), Andrew Clyde (GA), Mary Miller (IL), Andy Biggs (AZ), Mike Kelly (PA), John Rutherford (FL), Jeff Van Drew (NJ), Markwayne Mullin (OK), Mike Rogers (AL), Scott Franklin (FL), Dan Bishop (NC), Mike Carey (OH), Marjorie Taylor-Greene (GA), Tom Emmer (MN), Russ Fulcher (ID), David McKinley (WV), Jodey Arrington (TX), Elise Stefanik (NY), Jim Banks (IN), Darrell Issa (CA), Diana Harshbarger (TN), Debbie Lesko (AZ), Doug Lamborn (CO), Rick Crawford (AR), Rob Wittman (VA), Bob Good (VA), Tom McClintock (CA), Greg Murphy (NC), Yvette Herrell (NM), Vern Buchanan (FL), Scott Perry (PA), Clay Higgins (LA), Nicole Malliotakis (NY), Jeff Duncan (SC), Alex Mooney (WV), Glenn Grothman (WI), Troy Balderson (OH), Brian Babin (TX), John Rose (TN), Rodney Davis (IL), Lauren Boebert (CO), Ted Budd (NC), John Moolenaar (MI), Louie Gohmert (TX), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA), Brad Wenstrup (OH), Jason Smith (MO), and Ann Wagner (MO).
