1,500 Terrorists' Bodies Found Inside Israel After Gaza Border Sealed

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they have successfully regained control over their porous border with the Gaza Strip, approximately 72 hours after a breach by Hamas terrorists led to an invasion that resulted in over 1,000 Israelis killed or kidnapped, the Times of Israel reports.

In the wake of Saturday’s massacres, Israel has been grappling with the scale of the attacks. Military personnel were formally notifying the families of hostages who are believed to be held in Gaza, while airstrikes targeted areas across the Gaza Strip. Some 300,000 reservists were placed on standby for a possible ground invasion.

The death toll in Israel has surpassed 900, with over 500 people hospitalized, many of them in critical condition, and more than 2,700 injured since the onset of the conflict.

The IDF reported that they had successfully sealed the breached border, placing mines as a temporary measure to prevent further infiltrations. While earlier reports hinted at the possibility of tunnels connecting Gaza to Israeli territory, the military now states they have not identified any such tunnels.

Although the border is back under Israeli control, the IDF believes that there are still a small number of terrorists hiding within Israeli territory. Israeli security forces killed at least one Palestinian terrorist near Kibbutz Sa’ad, and encounters with terrorists occurred near Kissufim. Police also killed a terror suspect near Mishmar Hanegev, about 24 kilometers (15 miles) inside Israel.

The toll in Israel includes at least 123 soldiers, with 38 new names added to the list on Tuesday as families were informed of the deaths. Additionally, approximately 130 people are believed to have been abducted from Israel and taken into Gaza by the infiltrating terrorists, including women, children, and the elderly.

Social media has been filled with distressing videos of individuals being forcibly taken into the Gaza Strip, and there were videos of dead Israelis, including soldiers, being paraded in the streets.

The IDF intensified its airstrikes in Gaza overnight, targeting over 200 sites, including a weapons storage site in a mosque and a high-rise tower used by Hamas, among other military installations. Hamas had threatened to execute the hostages in response to Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, especially those conducted without warnings.

Hamas-run health authorities in Gaza reported that 687 Palestinians have been killed and another 3,800 have been wounded since the start of the fighting on Saturday.
