The left-wing social media giants are continuing their crusade against anyone and any entity even remotely seen as espousing conservative, traditionalist viewpoints.
That was in evidence again this week after YouTube removed a pro-family speech given by newly appointed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni that had gone viral.
As reported by The Daily Wire, Meloni defended the core family (husband/wife) while ripping ‘woke’ ideology in the speech, something that YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Google simply cannot tolerate.
The speech, given at the World Congress of Families in 2019, went viral after Meloni became the first female Italian prime minister, a feat that normally would be celebrated by the left but wasn’t because she’s center-right.
“Why is the family an enemy? Why is the family so frightening? There is a single answer to all these questions,” she said in the speech, according to a transcript provided by The Washington Post. “Because it defines us. Because it is our identity. Because everything that defines us is now an enemy for those who would like us to no longer have an identity and to simply be perfect consumer slaves.”
On Wednesday, YouTube removed it for ‘wrong think’ — claiming that it was taken down “for violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines,” National Review reported. The platform was not specific about which “community guideline” was violated, which is typical.
That said, YouTube spokeswoman Ivy Choi told The Daily Wire that the video had been reinstated, likely due to major backlash.
“Upon careful review, we determined this video is not violative of our Community Guidelines and have reinstated it,” Choi said via email.
“We enforce our policies regardless of the speaker’s political views and when it’s brought to our attention that a video has been mistakenly removed, we review the content and take appropriate action, including restoring the relevant videos or channels–as we have done with this video,” she added.
The speech also took aim at radical left-wing gender theory.

When you watch this video, you’ll quickly realize why the establishment is afraid of her,” conservative digital strategist Greg Price wrote in a Twitter post containing a clip of the speech.

“I can’t define myself as Italian, Christian, woman, mother. No. I must be Citizen X, Gender X, Parent 1, Parent 2,” the incoming Italian leader said. “I must be a number, because when I am only a number, when I no longer have an identity or roots, then I will be the perfect slave at the mercy of financial speculators. The perfect consumer.
“That’s why we inspire so much fear,” she continued. “That’s why this event inspires so much fear. Because we do not want to be numbers. We will defend the value of the human being — every single human being. Because each of us has a unique genetic code that is unrepeatable. And, like it or not, that is sacred. We will defend it. We will defend God, country and family.”
“Those things that disgust people so much,” Meloni added, “we will do it to defend our freedom because we will never be slaves and simple consumers at the mercy of financial speculators. That is our mission.”
