WATCH: Marjorie Taylor Greene Blasts British Journalist Complaining About US Gun Laws: 'You Have Mass Stabbings...'

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was in no mood for a lecture from a foreign journalist about gun laws during a press conference on Wednesday and made sure to let the journalist know that in no uncertain terms.

The press conference was in response to a bipartisan group of senators — including no fewer than 14 Republicans — who voted to officially begin deliberating the “breakthrough agreement on gun violence” that they reached last week.

Video of the back-and-forth between Greene and the British reporter shows Greene finishing her remarks by saying, “It’s our job to defend the Second Amendment.”

At that, Greene starts to walk away from the podium but she is interrupted by the journalist, who says: “We don’t have guns in the UK, that is true, but we don’t have mass shootings either. And our children aren’t scared to go to school.”

Greene, apparently prepared for such a remark, fired back: “You have mass stabbings, lady! You have all kinds of murder and you’ve got laws against that!”

“Nothing like the same rates here,” the reporter replies.

Irritated by the reporter’s reply, Greene snapped back: “Well, you can go back to your country and worry about your no guns. We like ours here.”

Greene was spot-on regarding England’s mass stabbings; per The American Wire, the following five headlines are about knife-related crimes in London alone that were published on Wednesday:

  • The Independent: “Man arrested after woman and child ‘stabbed to death’ in north London”
  • Sky News: “Pensioner, 89, stabbed to death in Thornton Heath, south London”
  • GB News: “London stabbing horror as 89-year-old woman knifed to death in home”
  • MyLondon: “Six men including victim’s brother charged with murder of London man, 32, stabbed to death in Bristol street”
  • Daily Mail: “Schoolboy, 15, stabbed unarmed 14-year-old to death with a hidden sword before fleeing on e-scooter”

In fact, the outlet noted, “English schoolchildren’s biggest fear is being stabbed to death, according to a BBC report published in January.”

“At recent crisis talks the BBC attended with police, youth workers and school leaders, community activist Tilisha Goupall recounted the traumatic story of watching her 15-year-old brother Jermaine die on the pavement in front of her. Since his death in 2017 she’s worked to try to prevent similar tragedies,” says the report.

“She explained that when she asked a group of children about to start at secondary school what they were most afraid of, ‘100% of them, all primary school children, said they were [most] scared of being stabbed.’”

The headline of the BBC report: “London violence: Children as young as 10 fear being stabbed.”

Earlier in the press conference, Greene ripped supporters of the bipartisan legislative effort focused primarily, according to earlier reports, on encouraging states to pass so-called “red flag” laws empowering courts to authorize police to confiscate someone’s firearms if they are ‘deemed’ to be a threat — without any due process.

“Here’s the problem I have. Joe Biden, then-Sen. Joe Biden that made my school a gun-free school zone and has left American students sitting ducks, targets for anyone who wants to go kill them, he’s friends with these Republican senators. And I’ll tell you who they are, because I don’t mind naming their names because people all over our country are furious at them,” she said.

Greene then listed the names before continuing.

“These are the Republican senators that Republican voters do not support anymore. We’ve got to change our Republican Party, and it needs to happen right here. Because if we don’t start defending Americans’ freedoms and rights and putting America first, our Republican voters are not going to want to put us in charge,” she said.

“We need to do a better job. The Senate gun [bill] is a complete failure, and I’m so happy with our House GOP leadership saying that they’re voting … against this bill and whipping against it. That’s something I’m extremely pleased with, and I know Republican voters and Independents and gun owners, period, are going to be thrilled with,” she added.
