Twitter Blows Up After Actor Chris Pratt Says His Faith Helps Him Deal With Haters On Twitter (And Elsewhere)

Actor Chris Pratt’s response to online hatred, in which he quoted biblical scripture, received further backlash from many on social media, essentially proving his point.

Pratt was being interviewed about his last movie, “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3,” with Page Six when he made his remarks.

“That’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?” he replied.

“If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,” he added, per The Blaze. “That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too.”

He went on to say that he mostly just ignores the online chatter and noise.

“Oh, just how you deal with anything. Like a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their a**!” he quipped.

“When it comes to rejection, I was trained in the crucible of door-to-door sales some 25 years ago,” Pratt admitted. “So, you can’t turn me away, there’s no stopping us.”

After Page Six published his remarks, several people dropped some hate bombs online with many claiming he inappropriately compared himself to Jesus.

“When is Chris Pratt going to sell all his belongings and give the money to the poor like Jesus suggests? Or do we just get to skip parts of the Bible we don’t like?” asked one critic.

“When you think he couldn’t possibly be any more of a prick, he compares himself to Jesus,” read another’s response.

“Am I being an idiot or does anyone else not see this as Chris Pratt essentially saying ‘I’m like Jesus’?” said another.

Others said that all Pratt did was note the similarities between him, as a person of faith, and what Jesus suffered two millennia ago.

Meanwhile, his successes continue. “Pratt also scored another blockbuster hit as the voice actor portraying the ‘Super Mario’ video game character in the ‘Super Mario Bros.’ movie that has garnered over $1.16 billion in revenue worldwide,” The Blaze noted.

In August, Pratt did not hold back in responding to “woke critics” on the entertainment rating site “Rotten Tomatoes” after the site certified his massive new Amazon Prime hit “The Terminal List” as “rotten.”

The show revolves around Pratt’s character, James Reece, a U.S. Navy SEAL commander determined to find out who was responsible for killing his platoon as he seeks to extract revenge.

As noted by Fox News, critics did not like the show but many fans nevertheless sounded off in Pratt’s defense, as the audience score on the movie and TV review site came in at 94 percent “fresh.”

Fox News added:

In a brazen move, the “Wanted” star took to his Instagram story, sharing a report that suggested the actor defied “woke critics.”

In a follow-up post, Pratt shared a picture of the infamous Dr. Evil from the “Austin Powers” films, referencing the enormous amount of people who had streamed his show on Prime Video that had clearly disregarded any negative commentary.
