Rep. Rashida Tlaib Calls for “No More Policing, Incarceration” after Daunte Wright Shooting

Radical Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) called for an end to “policing” and “incarceration” after the police shooting of Daunte Wright.

On Twitter, the congresswoman wrote, “It wasn’t an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist. Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.”

Wright, 20, was shot and killed by a police officer on Sunday afternoon during a traffic stop in the Minneapolis, MN suburb of Brooklyn Center. According to police, Wright had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Body camera footage reveals a struggle as a police officer attempts to handcuff Wright. One of the officers can be heard shouting “Taser! Taser! Taser!” and an officer shoots from a handgun and says “Holy sh*t! I shot him.”

Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said yesterday the officer who shot Wright had intended to fire their Taser, not their gun and described the incident as an “accidental discharge.”

The Minneapolis suburb has now suffered a second night of riots and looting since the shooting, and numerous arrests have been made.

Man Goes Off On CNN Reporter Covering Brooklyn Center Riots, Tells Them To Leave Minnesota

A man had some choice words for a CNN reporter as she was covering the riots in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota following the police-involved shooting of Daunte Wright Sunday.

Sara Sidner, a CNN correspondent, was reporting live when she was approached by the man who said “Now you can see — y’all be twistin’ up the story. That y’all doin’.”

Fox News reports:

Sidner then engaged with the man, who refused to give his name, and asked him what he thought about everything that was going on around them.

“What I think about this is, all the press and all the extra s— y’all do makes this worse!” the man exclaimed.

“You think so?” Sidner asked.

“Yeah,” the man said. “Y’all need to get up outta here with all that twistin’ up the media and s—, real s—.”

“You don’t know me, but we’re going to get to know each other,” Sidner responded in an effort to calm him down. “That’s what we’re going to do.”

“How are you gonna know me?” the man asked.

“You’re going to talk,” Sidner replied. “I’m going to share our number with you. Let’s do it.”

“No, let’s do it right here,” the man told her.
