Rep. Byron Donalds Says Impeachment Of Joe Biden 'Will Happen' But One Thing Must Happen First

Several Republican lawmakers said before the November midterms if the party managed to retake control of the House, President Joe Biden and some of his Cabinet members could face impeachment for various reasons, most of them having to do with being derelict in their duties.

One Biden official — Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — has already had articles of impeachment filed against him with the House Judiciary Committee. And now, Biden himself could be next.

In an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) noted that the president has used his administration “as a tool to wield its own agenda against American citizens,” leading her to ask him directly about the prospect of impeaching Biden.

“Oh, that’s something that will happen,” he said.

“I don’t want to make commitments to you today, because we want the investigations to speak for themselves,” he continued. “We don’t want to do what the Democrats did, which is weaponize the impeachment process for political purposes. We want to let the evidence speak for themselves. You have my commitment on that.”

“I’ve been talking with Jim Jordan and James Comer. The investigations, not just into the FBI the Department of Justice, obviously, as people are seeing with the Twitter files and all that stuff, but also with what the Biden family has been doing,” Donalds added.

Other Republicans have made similar statements this week and recently.

“Republicans will bring accountability back to Washington. We will investigate Dr. Fauci. We will repeal the 87,000 IRS army. And we will IMPEACH JOE BIDEN,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted.

“Whether it is Joe Biden’s dereliction of duty at the Southern Border or his disastrous retreat in Afghanistan, I have called for Joe Biden to answer to the American people in impeachment hearings,” Rep. Claudia Tenny, R-N.Y., said last month.

“I will not stand by while Biden and Pelosi trample on our constitution to push their far-left agenda. I look forward to working with a Republican House Majority … to impeach Biden and hold his administration accountable for their numerous failures.”

As for Donalds, he also said during his interview with Bartiromo that he has a commitment from newly elected Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to set up a special committee to look into China’s undue influence in the country as the Asian giant becomes America’s top national security concern.

“The speaker has been very clear about what’s going to happen. He’s been clear for quite some time,” Donalds said. “We’re going to have a select committee just to investigate China and all the things that the CCP is doing to not only influence here in the United States, but also to take jobs away from Americans over the years.”

“The Chinese Communist Party is the greatest geopolitical threat of our lifetime,” McCarthy said in December. “We need a whole-of-government approach that will build on the efforts of the Republican-led China Task Force and ensure America is prepared to tackle the economic and security challenges posed by the CCP.”
