The mainstream media is not doing its job when it comes to be the impartial referee between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
It is for this reason that two pollsters have suggested that the former president’s campaign has to step in and do the media’s job for them by talking about the vice president’s actual record.
Matt Towery and Robert Cahaly, who co-host the podcast Polling Plus, spoke to Fox News host Sean Hannity about what the campaign should do.
“Well, it’s not just the Trump campaign. They actually have ads deployed and some of their ads are very good, but there’s a lot of money floating around in these PACs and groups and they’re waiting and waiting,” Towery said.
“The truth is, you now need rapid response. Sean, every single thing you just showed on your own program needs to be turned into an ad that is either on social media or bought in a network affiliate or on some cable. It’s got to be out there because people don’t know all of this,” Towery added.
“I’ll give one example. In our poll, we asked people if, in fact, Kamala Harris really was the border czar. Only 50% in these states said that, yes, they could say she was the border czar. That means that the media, the rest of the media who’s blocking most of the information that voters need to see, you’ve got to overcome that with ads and you’ve got to do it quickly because folks are going to be voting in 30 days,” he said.
The host asked Cahaly what the campaign needs to focus on.
“Well, what’s missing most importantly is the contradictions. I mean, the stuff you showed at the beginning of this program is exactly what they need,” Cahaly responded.
“Kamala and Walz, in their own words, saying things that are nutty and that are crazy, that don’t, that are out of the step with what people believe in America. You know, the average person that’s going to win this election is going to decide it, doesn’t watch cable news, conservative or liberal, and they don’t attend Trump or Harris rallies. So the first person to talk about tips on advertising is probably the one that’s going to own that issue. So it’s about getting out with these issues and showing the contradiction. And again, the more you use their own words, the better,” he said.
