In a Thursday tweet, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expressed her disdain for West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin over his position of not wanting to defund the police.
It might be in Ocasio-Cortez’s best interest to watch the video below, where it showcases the disconnection of the NYC liberal elitest mentality who hate the police and the actual community of east Harlem who say they are very necessary and welcomed.
With two Senate seats up for grabs and control of the chamber on the line in a January runoff in Georgia, Manchin this week has attempted to alleviate concerns that Democrats would be able to act on far-left proposals like stacking the Supreme Court, eliminating the Senate filibuster, the Green New Deal, and defunding the police by promising to be the deal-breaking vote in a 50/50 Senate.
Manchin reiterated those positions in an interview with The Washington Examiner, a link to which he tweeted out Wednesday along with a less than favorable statement about defund the police efforts.

Ocasio-Cortez, a vocal proponent of defunding police forces across the country, responded to Manchin’s tweet with a picture of her seemingly giving him the stink eye as he applauded President Donald Trump during a State of the Union address.

Antifa Rioter Yells at NYPD "I Hope All Your Children Get Raped and Killed"
Despite all efforts by Democrats to have us believe Antifa is a “myth,” violent leftist radicals are continuing to riot and cause destruction across the country.

The pinked-haired protesters comments drew gasps from other protesters who appeared to be upset by the vitriol of the woman’s statement. One person in the crowd can be heard repeatedly shouting “hey” after she made the comment, while another appeared to cover her mouth in disbelief.
“You’re a f*cking disgrace to society,” the pink-haired protester continued before the video cut off. She appeared to be walking away from the scene as the footage ends.
Violent protests have once again erupted in many of America’s major cities, including New York City, following the shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. by police in Philadelphia. Wallace was caught on video waving a knife and approaching police officers before the 27-year-old was shot dead.
Since then, New York City has experienced rioting as looters attacked businesses and caused property damage in Brooklyn, FOX News reports. Police cruisers have also been reported to have sustained damage, garbage cans have been set on fire, and a number of officers were injured as a rioter attempted to drive a sedan through a group of officers. Protesters could be heard yelling “burn the precinct to the ground, every city, every town!” Police arrested at least 30 people.
We can only hope that serious reform takes place in the education system so that the U.S. does not continue to churn out Marxist radicals who seek to systematically destroy the very place that provides them with endless opportunity and freedom.
Dem Policies Put Lowest Number Of Cops On Streets In Years, Crime Rises 166%
Democratic leadership has been hostile towards police and law enforcement, and the very unfortunate reality is that it is getting their constituents killed. “New York City saw another huge increase in gun crimes last month as the NYPD’s chief of crime control strategies says the agency is coping with the lowest number of cops on the streets in six years,” reports CBS News.
Numbers don’t lie and these are screaming alarm of high murder rates. “The city saw a 166% increase in shooting incidents in August – 242 compared to 91 in August 2019…In addition, murders are up 47% for the month, with 53 this year versus 36 in August 2019” CBS New York reports. “There is too much killing,” said one Brooklyn resident. “I’m tired of it. Every night there’s guns shooting.”
Even Democrats should be able to follow simple math leading to the devastating consequences. “The increase comes as the NYPD has seen a dramatic drop in manpower due to a combination of $1 billion in defund-the-police budget cuts, no overtime, no new police class, and a dramatic increase in the number of police officers retiring” cites CBS.
Michael LiPetri, the NYPD’s chief of crime control strategies, explained the numerical details. “We have calculated that approximately 2,000 to 3,000, maybe even 4,000 fewer officers are out on the streets for any given week” said LiPetri. In areas where crime has dramatically increased has greatly suffered from the lack of police presence. “That’s where the overtime was going last summer. The overtime was going to the most violent commands in New York City” said LiPetri.
Are Cuomo and de Blasio concerned by the consequences of their legislation? No. As a matter of fact, Mayor Bill de Blasio “is putting his faith in community violence interrupters, known as Cure Violence groups” over police forces. “We’ve seen stunning success in the past. We know it will take root here again. But everyone is still trying to come back from massive disruption. We’re not going to see an overnight turnaround” de Blasio said.
However, even the Cure Violence group says of the fighting crime task, “it’s something that we can’t take personal responsibility, which is an entire precinct’s stats. Our work is concentrated in very small target areas” said group member A.T. Mitchell. In essence, de Blasio is saying to those whose neighborhoods are riddled with bullets, “deal with it.”
