Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who like the rest of her far-left “Squad” members is always on the lookout for a perceived anti-woke sleight, believes she has found one.
The ‘sin’ was committed by none other than The New York Times, proving once again that even left-wing progressive news folk can’t be left-wing progressive enough for today’s Democratic Party extremists.
After accusing the paper of implausibly spreading “transphobic hate,” she declared in a tweet: “The @nytimes has been providing a platform for transphobic hate & propaganda, with horrifying consequence.”
She added in another: “During escalating assaults on trans people & trans rights nationwide, the New York Times is featuring writers debating whether trans people should even exist and scapegoating this already-marginalized community.”

The lawmaker linked to a web page that invites people to, “Sign now to tell the New York Times to stop providing a dangerous platform for transphobic hate, and instead amplify trans voices.”
“By featuring non-trans writers who scapegoat trans people and debate whether trans people even have a right to exist, the New York Times is normalizing hate and further targeting vulnerable communities. Because their platform is so powerful—not only widely read but also seen widely as legitimate—this is incredibly dangerous,” part of the message on the web page declares.
“To trans & non-binary people: I’m with you. I’m going to keep fighting for your right to exist, to be safe as your full authentic selves, & to thrive. Our safety & liberation is intertwined,” Tlaib tweeted.
“The fights for trans rights and reproductive justice are wrapped up together. Our right to bodily autonomy—our ability to make decisions about our own bodies—is under threat. This affects ALL of us. We must be in solidarity to defeat the growing fascist movement to control us,” she added.

The virtue-signaling is strong in this one.
First and foremost, virtually no American media outlet is “seen widely as legitimate,” according to a recent Gallup survey, which echos dozens of other surveys over the past decade, at a minimum.
Secondly, it is unfathomable that The New York Times would ever come out as anti-trans or be on the opposite end of anything far-left and ‘woke.’ This is the ‘paper of record’ that led the never-ending assault against former President Donald Trump and helped perpetuate several legitimately false narratives and accusations against him.
But this is nothing new from the extreme Democratic left; you can’t be ‘woke’ enough for these people and any perceived ‘transgression’ is not tolerated (from supposedly the ‘most tolerant’ people there are).
The woke extremism, however, is costing the party dearly among a growing number of Hispanics and Asian-Americans, two demographic groups who are culturally conservative but have historically been Democratic voters.
So, by all means, Rep. Tlaib, continue virtue-signaling to the extreme wing of your party.
