It’s becoming crystal clear that a) there is a ‘deep state’ working behind the scenes and consisting of individual officials whose job is to shape public opinion on political and geopolitical matters; b) its ‘members’ are decidedly pro-Democrat and vehemently anti-Donald Trump.

If you doubt that, ask yourself a simple question: Why have there been no leaks of information damaging to President Joe Biden but there were leaks a-plenty during Trump’s administration — and there continue to be leaks of information meant to harm him?

Case in point: The Washington Post just happened to get ahold of information, citing “officials familiar with the criminal investigation,” that classified materials regarding a foreign country’s military defenses and details on top-secret U.S. operations were allegedly discovered in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home during the FBI raid there last month.

Now, either this is true, or it’s another fabrication concocted by some of the same faceless bureaucrats who fabricated the ‘Trump-Russia collusion’ hoax, but either way, the information was clearly planted to harm the former president.

The question is…why?

George Washington University law school Prof. Jonathan Turley has introduced one possibility — that the DOJ doesn’t really have a case against Trump at all and the department’s deep-state allies are simply spreading falsehoods to continue damaging Trump’s political brand ahead of midterm elections in which a very unpopular president leading an increasingly unpopular party that was cruising for a blowout.

“The allegation is very serious and raises more questions on why Trump would take such material. However, a steady stream of leaks have come from the government as it claimed that absolute secrecy is needed in opposing the release of the redacted affidavit and the special master,” Turley noted in a tweet on Tuesday, adding: “These leaks seem to come when the Justice Department is facing opposing actions in court and [serve] to frame the public debate through selective releases of information.”

The leak also comes on the heels of a ruling from U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday granting Trump’s request for a special master to go through all of the documents and materials seized by the FBI during the Aug. 8 raid that lasted all day. And interestingly, in the same ruling, Cannon chided the government over its endless selective leaking.

“For the same reasons — chiefly, the risk that the Government’s filter review process will not adequately safeguard Plaintiff’s privileged and personal materials in terms of exposure to either the Investigative Team or the media — Plaintiff has sufficiently established irreparable injury,” Cannon wrote.

Cannon, who was appointed to the federal bench by Trump in 2020, added that the special master was needed to ensure “the integrity of an orderly process amidst swirling allegations of bias and media leaks.”

The Daily Wire noted further:

In a footnote in her decision, Cannon said she had queried the DOJ about the leaks, which started immediately after the raid and included unsubstantiated claims Trump had nuclear secrets and a photo of documents spread out on the floor of Trump’s home.

“When asked about the dissemination to the media of information relative to the contents of the seized records, Government’s counsel stated that he had no knowledge of any leaks stemming from his team but candidly acknowledged the unfortunate existence of leaks to the press,” she noted in her ruling, which bars the government from using anything seized in the raid for any future potential prosecution until it has all been gone through by the special master.

Other experts took Cannon’s chiding of the DOJ as her being fed up with the leaking.

“The federal US District Court Judge highlights FBI/DOJ failures to be forthright with court, failures to protect rights of Trump, leaks and other shady acts,” tweeted Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “If I were Biden gang, I’d look to drop this sham case ASAP.”

“Roughly a day after a federal judge orders the appointment of a special master, a new leak appears in the Post saying that the seized documents included material discussing our nuclear capabilities,” Turley added later. “These leaks seem to come when the Justice Department is facing opposing actions in court and sever to frame the public debate through selective releases of information.”
