Faith-Filled Actor Mark Wahlberg Seeks to Reboot Hollywood in Nevada, But Without All the Baggage

As crime, drug use, and the proliferation of tent cities continue to plague California’s major urban centers, there is a noticeable increase in the number of Americans leaving the state.

The trend encompasses not only regular residents but also notable actors and entertainers, such as Mark Wahlberg.

Wahlberg made headlines when he relocated from Hollywood to Nevada last year. Currently, the megastar is actively involved in revamping the entertainment industry, often referred to as “Hollywood 2.0.” The new version aims to move away from the overt left-wing political virtue-signaling that has come to define the original Hollywood, he suggested.

The “Father Stu” actor is widely recognized for his strong commitment to Catholicism, and he places significant emphasis on instilling his children with a deep understanding of the faith. Presently, he, along with other actors, is actively pressing the Nevada state legislature to introduce tax cuts and additional incentives that would attract film and other production ventures to the region.

“I would love to see us building studios, creating jobs, and just diversifying the economy,” Wahlberg said. “I’ve moved my last film here. I’m shooting another film here coming up in the summertime. I think there’s so much more opportunity to be created here. There’s so much growth and so much potential, it’s a wonderful opportunity for everybody to prosper.”

Earlier, Wahlberg spoke about his plans to transform the region into a better version of Tinsel Town.

“We’re looking to create 10,000 jobs on the studio alone. The average salary would be $100,000 more than what it is now,” he said.

“We want to train people both in front of and behind the camera, create jobs, most importantly, first and foremost, for locals,” he added, according to Slay News.

Howard Hughes CEO David O’Reilly told CNBC: “Our employees and the future of Summerlin are inextricably linked with the Nevada economy. If we can strengthen, diversify and grow by bringing the film industry here, that will benefit all of us.

“That money is only earned if money is spent here,” he added. “For a company to earn $190 million tax credit they would have to spend $633 million filming and creating economic development for this whole valley.”
