Dems BLOCK GOP Senator from IRS Whistleblower Alleging Mishandling of Hunter Biden Tax Probe

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), a top Senate Republican and member of the Senate Finance Committee, is being denied access to a congressional investigation into IRS whistleblower claims regarding the mishandling of an IRS and Justice Department probe into Hunter Biden’s alleged tax fraud.

Grassley, who is also the co-chairman of the Whistleblower Protection Caucus, is being excluded from an upcoming interview with one of the whistleblowers. Grassley’s team has been actively involved in the investigation, and their exclusion raises concerns about transparency and fairness.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) removed the “entire investigative team” from the ongoing tax fraud probe involving Hunter Biden, New York Post reported earlier this week.

According to the attorneys representing a whistleblower in the case, this move was allegedly in retaliation against the whistleblower who recently contacted Congress to report a cover-up.

The attorneys, Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt, informed congressional leaders about the purge and stated that it was done on the orders of President Biden’s Department of Justice.

While the first son has not yet been publicly identified as the subject of the investigation, congressional sources have confirmed it, the New York Post says.

The attorneys pointed out that this removal constitutes retaliation and may even obstruct a congressional inquiry. They cited the IRS Commissioner’s testimony before the House Committee on Ways and Means, where he assured there would be no retaliation against whistleblowers, but they argue that this move clearly contradicts that statement.

Both the IRS and the Department of Justice did not responded to requests for comment from the Post and neither has Hunter Biden’s legal team or the White House.

The whistleblower’s representatives declined to comment further on the matter.

Hunter Biden, 53, is currently under investigation for alleged failure to pay taxes on millions of dollars in income, mostly from foreign sources.

Despite the investigation, Hunter looked to be perfectly fine during his daughter Maisy’s graduation ceremony that same day, at the University of Pennsylvania, giving a thumbs-up to journalists.

Following the whistleblower’s emergence, Hunter Biden’s attorneys met with Justice Department officials NBC reports, indicating that a charging decision in the tax fraud investigation may be imminent.

Hunter Biden confirmed being under investigation for tax fraud shortly after his father’s election victory in 2020. He reportedly borrowed around $2 million last year to pay off back taxes, although such action does not legally absolve him of the original non-payment.
