Democrats Are Increasingly Concerned About Biden's Mental Status: Survey

Concern among Americans over Joe Biden’s worsening mental status is rising, and that’s mostly coming from Democrats.

In a span of just two months, worries about the nearly 80-year-old’s mental status have jumped from 59 percent to 64 percent in the latest Issues & Insights/TIPP poll, with the increase coming mostly from self-identified Democratic voters.

“Virtually all of October’s gain came from Democrats, who went from just 39% expressing ‘concern’ over Biden’s mental health in August, a high number in itself, to 52% in the latest poll. Let that sink in: A majority of Democrats now also think Biden possibly has mental health issues,” said the survey analysis.

The Washington Examiner noted that the latest survey results likely will reinforce previous reports that some Democratic Party leaders are hoping that Biden steps down and won’t seek reelection, though there is no obvious replacement for him since Vice President Kamala Harris is worse off in the polls than the president. Many Democrats would love to see former first lady Michelle Obama run, but she has ruled it out.

The survey’s results have also reinforced a belief that Biden ought to undergo a mental competency exam like former President Donald Trump, who passed it easily.

The survey analysis also pointed out several of Biden’s most recent gaffes.

“Recent video snippets show Biden wandering off stage, apparently lost, after speaking briefly; forgetting the name of the Declaration of Independence, the nation’s founding document; not remembering that a congresswoman he was honoring at a ceremony was in fact dead, asking Where’s Jackie (Walorski)?’; invoking the possibility of nuclear ‘Armageddon’ after Vladimir Putin’s military suffered setbacks in Ukraine; and so on,” it said.

During a rally in Nevada on Saturday, Trump played a ‘highlight reel’ of Biden’s most notable gaffes to howls of laughter from the audience.

Republicans have been calling on Biden to take a mental capacity exam for most, if not all, of his presidency, and they made a new appeal late last month.

“In yet another pathetic display of incompetence, Joe Biden not only thought my departed colleague was alive, but he also had his puppet-master, Karine Jean-Pierre, deny he was confused,” Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-Texas), a former White House physician who has routinely called on Biden to take a cognitive test, added, Fox News reported.

“It doesn’t take a neurologist to realize he’s in serious cognitive decline,” he added. “The American people know what’s going on here, and they don’t think the Commander-in-Chief is capable of doing his job. It’s past time for White House staff and the liberal media to stop shielding him from questions about his mental acuity and demand he answers my call for a cognitive test.”

“The American people can see that Mr. Biden’s mental acuity is certainly in question,” Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., a still-practicing surgeon as well as the GOP Doctors Caucus vice chairman, told Fox News Digital. “What’s more disturbing to me, however, is the way in which this White House continues to deceive and misdirect the American people on a daily basis.

“It appears there is nothing the White House won’t do to cover up for a failed president and a failed administration,” Murphy added. “The American people clearly deserve better.”
