Country Music Superstar Toby Keith Headlining Event To Honor American Vets

One of country music’s biggest stars, Toby Keith, is scheduled to headline a concert event to honor American veterans who served in one of the country’s most divisive conflicts, according to a Saturday report.

According to The Daily Wire, Keith will be joined by fellow stars Justin Moore and Craig Morgan in the special “Heroes Honor Festival 2022” event that is being presented by Engage Your Destiny, a group that seeks to bring honor, hope, and healing to military veterans and their families.

“Our society largely rejected Vietnam veterans when they came home from the war 50 years ago,” Ben Peterson, Iraq Veteran and Founder of Engage Your Destiny, said in a statement to The Daily Wire. “Despite many veterans having been drafted without a choice, they were shamed upon their return to the United States.”

“Despite this, these veterans vowed that those who followed would never experience the same rejection they did,” he continued. “They chose to become the guardians of honor for future welcome home ceremonies.”

The event this year “aims to be the largest celebration of Vietnam veterans ever assembled to honor these veterans and their families with the truth of their heroism, humanitarianism, courage, and sacrifice,” Peterson noted. “It is a grand display of appreciation from 9/11-era veterans and citizens to our Vietnam veterans.”

The group’s website notes further:

Heroes Honor Festival is a grand display of appreciation for those who served in Vietnam. Memorial Day Weekend 2022 supplies the moment, and Daytona International Speedway provides the venue for a day of celebration, entertainment, connection, and healing.

Whether joining in-person or in-spirit, Heroes Honor Festival provides all Americans an extraordinary opportunity to rally around these deserving patriots, to be inspired by their heroism and heart, and promise never again to turn away when welcoming our warriors home.

“We are officially 30 days out from the Heroes Honor Festival! We absolutely cannot wait to honor to our Vietnam Veteran Heroes. For those that have already claimed their spot, make sure you check off your event checklist! – Lodging  – Flights  – Invite your friends,” said an announcement tweeted by the organization.

The Daily Wire added:

In addition to Keith, Moore, and Morgan’s performances, additional special guests are set to include additional musical artists and entertainers, such as Ann-Margret and Chris Noel.

A cast of decorated speakers will also address the attendees. Major Gen. Patrick Brady, a Vietnam War helicopter pilot and Medal of Honor and Distinguished Service Cross recipient, and Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, one of the original members of the U.S. Army’s Delta Force, will appear to honor America’s veterans and their families.

In addition, Lt. Col. Oliver North, a combat decorated U.S. Marine and best-selling author, is slated to appear.

Mark “Oz” Geist, the bestselling co-author of “13 Hours” and security and military consultant credited with saving 25 people in the attack on Benghazi, is also scheduled for the event.

Tickets for the event can be obtained here. Vietnam veterans and their spouses are able to register for free tickets, while active-duty military and other veterans, their spouses, and any children 12 and under can also register for free tickets, according to details of the event from Engage Your Destiny.
