Congrats! Biden Hits Milestone: 50 Days Without a Formal Press Conference Since Becoming President

Today marks 50 days since President Biden has taken office, and he has yet to hold a formal press conference.

Fox News reports:

Former President Trump waited 28 days into his presidency to hold a press conference, former President Obama waited just 21 days before holding one, and former President George W. Bush waited 34 days before taking questions from the press in a formal setting.

So, how long will it take before the leader of the free world addresses reporters in a formal setting?

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said last week that Biden will hold a press conference “by the end of the month.”

“As all of you know, the president takes questions several times a week,” Psaki said last week during a White House press briefing. “He took questions actually twice yesterday, which is an opportunity for the people covering the White House to ask him about whatever news is happening on any given day.”

“We look forward to holding a full press conference in the coming weeks before the end of the month and we’re working on setting a final date for that and as soon as we do, we will let you all know,” she continued.

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany blasted Biden, saying, “It is extraordinary, but predictable. “I remember I warned reporters, in a joking way, when it was clear Biden was the incoming president, they should get used to the feeling of not seeing a president regularly.”

Biden’s Border Crisis: February Border Apprehensions up 170 Percent from Last Year

Almost 100,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended last month, making it the highest February total since 2006.

It marks a 26 percent jump from January’s apprehensions and 170 percent jump from one year ago.

Breitbart reports:

Border Patrol agents apprehended 98,974 migrants in February who illegally crossed the border in February, according to the Southwest Land Border Encounters Report released on Wednesday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. This represents a massive increase from the 78,323 apprehended in January and an even larger jump from February 2020 when agents apprehended only 36,687. The February 2021 apprehensions are the largest February report since 2006 when agents apprehended 125,046.

The publication points out the apprehensions occurred during President Joe Biden’s first full month in office—after he ended many of President Trump’s successful border policies.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol official Troy Miller said in remarks yesterday, “The border is not open.”

“The United States is continuing to strictly enforce our existing immigration laws and border security measures,” he continued. “Those who attempt to cross the border without going through ports of entry should understand that they are putting themselves and their families in danger, especially during the pandemic.”

Last week, President Trump slammed Biden for his administration’s handling of the border crisis.

In a statement, the former president wrote, “When I was President, our Southern border was in great shape – stronger, safer, and more secure than ever before. We ended Catch-and-Release, shut down asylum fraud, and crippled the vicious smugglers, drug dealers, and human traffickers. The wall, despite horrendous Democrat delays, would have easily been finished by now, and is working magnificently. Our country is being destroyed at the Southern border, a terrible thing to see!”

Biden DOJ Nominee Fell for Smollett Hate Hoax, Said Police were “Demonizing Survivors”

President Joe Biden’s nominee to head up the civil rights division of the Department of Justice “boosted” the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax, according to the Daily Caller.

In 2019, Smollett falsely purported to be the victim of an anti-gay, racially charged hate crime, claiming he was attacked by two white men who yelled “This is MAGA country.”

Shortly after the news of Smollett’s “attack” was reported, Kristen Clarke, Biden’s nominee wrote, “Jussie Smollett subjected to a racist and homophobic attack. 2 white men wearing ski masks attacked him, put a rope around his neck, and poured bleach on him and as they yelled slurs. Prayers to @JussieSmollett for a speedy recovery from this hate crime.”

The Daily Caller points out that Clarke also accused the Chicago police department of “demonizing survivors” for seeking access to Smollett’s phone while probing the incident.

“To be clear — This is a BAD move by the Chicago Police Department. This is NOT how you treat survivors of a hate crime,” she wrote on Twitter in response to a news report about Smollett’s refusal to turn over his phone to detectives. “Stop demonizing survivors and casting doubt on their claims if you want communities to trust that you will take #HateCrime seriously. @StopHateProj”

The Caller reports:

More than a year after Smollett’s allegations fell apart, Clarke criticized the use of a special prosecutor to review Foxx’s handling of charges against the actor.

Clarke asserted that prosecutors like Foxx “use their discretion every day” to decide how to handle cases.

But Clarke lamented that the use of a special prosecutor was brought in to “undermine” Foxx’s power.

Clarke has also been criticized for her remarks in 1994 when she was a student at Harvard.

In the student Newspaper, she wrote that black people had “greater mental, physical and spiritual abilities” than other races due to the amount of melanin they produce.
