Chicago Madness! Cook County Judge And 3-Year-Old Son Are Victims of Carjacking

The quality of life in Chicago continues to deteriorate thanks to the ‘criminal justice’ policies of left-wing prosecutors like Kim Foxx who appear to be better advocates for criminals than for the law-abiding general public she was elected to serve.

In fact, the criminality is now reaching the absurd, as evidenced by an incident involving a Cook County judge and her three-year-old son, both of whom were carjacked at gunpoint late last week in Humboldt Park, according to CBS2.

According to Chicago police, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, when the judge was pulling into the garage of her home at the 1500 block of North Campbell Avenue with her son in the back seat as two men approached.

The report added:

According to an internal CPD report obtained by CBS 2’s Brad Edwards, the woman, who is a Cook County judge, was forced out of her car at gunpoint, and robbed of her purse and phone.

She was able to remove her 3-year-old son from the back seat before the carjackers took off in her 2018 Subaru Crosstek, which was last seen nearly 4 miles away, near Jackson and Hamlin boulevards.

In recent days, a Chicago emergency dispatcher blasted Mayor Lori Lightfoot for the rising crime rates and for declining CPD staffing levels after she latched on to the “Black Lives Matter” ‘defund police’ movement last year.

At the same time in his video shared on Facebook, Keith Thornton Jr. warned Chicagoans that they are not being adequately protected, which is also partly why violent crime continues to rise throughout the city.

“I’m really riled up right now,” Thornton continued, adding that it was around 11 p.m. in his Dec. 23 video. “I had a long day, and I’m riled up right now.”

Thorton noted that he felt compelled to speak up after a particularly busy shift because “several of my officers have texted me that they were scared … They have no backing and they’re scared of being out there by themselves, working in the 16th District.”

“I’m talking about females being beaten. Shootings — a shooting came out a few days ago, and we couldn’t even get the unit over there … until 10-plus minutes later because there was no one,” Thornton stated.

“They don’t replace the officers here that retire,” Thornton charged. “They don’t replace the officers that get promoted.”

“The biggest one that I love: When all hell breaks loose in downtown Chicago … they’re sending five, six cars from this district, just like all the rest, to go sit on a post to protect downtown. It’s bull crap,” he said, going on to explain how reduced department staffing has real-world effects.

“Now, Sally’s calling for the man who’s beating on her. The kid’s calling right here because he’s shot. The paramedics are on the scene of a car accident and they’re fighting,” he continued.

“Here’s another car accident up here. Here’s a stabbing right here. Here’s a domestic battery right here. And no one’s coming,” Thornton noted further.

“I’m hot about it because this mayor does not care about Chicago police officers, period. She doesn’t care about any first responders. She does not care about the d*** city. It doesn’t matter if you’re white, black, Asian, Hispanic, other, straight, gay, Democrat, or Republican. She don’t even care about her city workers. All that lady cares about is her f***ing self,” he said.

“And I pray you’re watching this because you’re a disgrace and I’m tired of it,’ he said, directing his words at Lightfoot. ‘And your city is tired of it. Matter of fact, it’s not your city. The city of Chicago is tired of it,” he noted further.

“And I know you don’t like me, and that’s okay because I love you,” the dispatcher said, adding, “but I’m tired of you because you’re an absolute disgrace to everyone within the city.”

Thornton said that the “city is burning” and that it was time for the residents to “stand up” and “do something,” to address the situation. He even went to far as to say he was willing to meet with city officials to discuss his concerns.

“We’ve got to come together for our area because this is bull s***,” he said.
