Biden's Personal Doctor Who Cleared Him Mentally Helped Family Cash In on Biz Deal

President Biden’s White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, was reportedly involved in helping the Biden family secure a significant financial return from a failed hospital venture in 2018, which has raised questions among lawmakers about whether his engagement with the Biden family’s business affairs could compromise his objectivity in assessing Biden’s cognitive health.

These concerns about Dr. O’Connor’s medical judgment are emerging as worries intensify among voters and Democratic Party leaders regarding Biden’s fitness for office and his suitability for running for reelection. The scrutiny reflects broader apprehensions about potential conflicts of interest and the need for transparency in the health assessments of high-ranking public officials, the Washington Times reported.

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chair James Comer is demanding O’Connor appear for questioning before the panel. The inquiry centers on his involvement in the Biden family business and his objectivity in assessing the president’s mental and physical fitness.

Lawmakers are seeking clarification from Dr. Kevin O’Connor regarding discrepancies in statements about President Biden’s medical evaluations following the debate in Atlanta on June 27. The president reassured Democratic governors in a meeting on Friday that he had consulted with a doctor and was “fine.” In contrast, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre informed reporters that the president had not undergone a medical examination.

“The statements by the White House Press Secretary and President Biden appear inconsistent, and the Committee seeks to understand the extent of your role at the White House at this time,” Comer, a Kentucky Republican, wrote to O’Connor. “Given your connections with the Biden family, the Committee also seeks to understand if you are in a position to provide accurate and independent reviews of the President’s fitness to serve.”

The Times added:

The 81-year-old president is fighting to stay on the 2024 ticket following a disastrous debate performance and a series of interviews and appearances that have failed to quell concerns about him being too old to serve a second term effectively.

Neurosurgeons and cognitive specialists who haven’t examined him but observed his behavior said Mr. Biden could be suffering from Parkinson’s disease or dementia.

O’Connor has consistently provided positive annual health assessments of Biden, never recommending a cognitive test despite ongoing public debate about the president’s fitness for office. In February, O’Connor described President Biden as “a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.”

However, lawmakers are now raising concerns about his medical impartiality. The new skepticism is partly due to his alleged role in assisting the president’s younger brother in securing $600,000 from a deal with Americore, a rural hospital corporation, starting in 2017.

These developments have intensified scrutiny, with some questioning whether his professional judgments are influenced by his personal and financial connections to the Biden family.

“Some of the money from the deal Dr. O’Connor helped secure went directly into Mr. Biden’s bank account in the form of a $200,000 check labeled as a loan repayment, House investigators determined,” The Times reported.
