AOC Tells Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to Retire

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Saturday that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott should step down from his position after transporting migrants to DC.

AOC, who has feuded with Abbott in the past, said “I remember how folks stepped up to help Texans when you left them cold and hungry during the freeze. We will welcome these families too. They have so much to offer,” referring to the 2021 power crisis that left Texas frozen after three winter storms. “You do seem to be struggling at your job, though. Maybe you should consider if this is the right work for you,” she concluded.

Her tweet came after a tweet from Abbott that said “This morning, two Texas buses of migrants arrived at the Naval Observatory in DC.

“VP Harris claims our border is “secure” & denies the crisis.

“We’re sending migrants to her backyard to call on the Biden Administration to do its job & secure the border.”

Over 100 migrants were sent to DC on Thursday morning from Eagle Pass, Texas. Migrants were largely from Venezuela but also had Colombians, Mexicans, and Uruguayans.

Abbott attacked the Dems over their lack of action and vowed to continue the busing, saying “Our supposed Border Czar, VP Harris, has yet to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement.

“Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like D.C. until Biden & Harris do their jobs to secure the border.”

He accused the Biden-Harris regime of ignoring and denying the “historic crisis at our southern border, which has endangered and overwhelmed Texas communities for almost two years.”
