AOC Rips Republican Lawmaker Who Said Men Can't Get Pregnant

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sounded an awful lot like she needed a course in basic biology during a House hearing on Thursday.

The self-described “democratic socialist” from New York lashed out at a Republican lawmaker after he, correctly, pointed out that human biological men cannot have children.

The exchange came during a House Oversight Committee hearing about abortion, where she also said it is an economic issue, claiming that if women can’t get the procedure, then they become parents who have been “conscripted” to work against their will, The Daily Wire reported.

An actual doctor from Planned Parenthood, Dr. Bhavik Kumar said in response to a question from Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) that “men can have pregnancies, especially trans men” — without explaining that ‘trans men’ are biological women.

“Somebody with a uterus may have the capability of becoming pregnant, whether they’re a woman or a man,” Kumar said. “That doesn’t make a difference.”

“OK, we’re done,” Clyde responded.

“Not every person with a uterus has the ability to become pregnant,” Kumar said. “This is medicine.”

That’s true, but what is also true is that only humans with a uterus can become pregnant, whether they ‘identify’ as a man, a giraffe, or the kitchen sink, and only biological women have uteruses.

“I can’t believe it’s necessary to say this, but men cannot get pregnant and cannot give birth, regardless of how they identify themselves,” Clyde said. “Why in the world would Democrats have brought in a person whose title is ‘director of trans care’ for an abortion hearing when only biological women can become pregnant?”

That truth bomb was too much for Ocasio-Cortez, who lashed out at the Georgia Republican, claiming: “The same folks who … told us that COVID’s just a flu, that climate change isn’t real, that January 6 was nothing but a tourist visit … are now trying to tell us that transgender people are not real.”

That’s not at all what Clyde said, of course, but accuracy and putting things in context isn’t one of AOC’s strong points.

“And I would say that their claim is probably just as legitimate as all their others, which is to say not very much at all,” she added.

Of course, Democrats falsely claimed that the COVID-19 vaccines were 100 percent effective that the Jan. 6 riot was an “insurrection”; that climate change was going to destroy the planet by now, and that Democrats are the ‘party of science.’
