Vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has confirmed his participation in a debate with his Republican counterpart, JD Vance. Walz has agreed to a debate hosted by CBS News, scheduled for October 1 in New York City.

While Walz has committed to the October 1 date, the Trump campaign has not yet officially agreed to it. CBS News proposed multiple dates for the event, including September 17, September 24, October 1, and October 8, with Walz ultimately selecting the October 1 date.

Following the announcement, Walz shared the news on X, posting, “See you on October 1, JD.”

Trump mentioned last week that CBS News would host a vice presidential debate next month and praised Vance, stating that he had “really stepped up” and was doing “a fantastic job.”
